Nineteen Eighty-Four Poster Roman à Clef diamonds for Anne and spadesAn early, very striking jacket design for George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four, by the great Dennis Piper, who designed many book covers in the 1960s and 70s. Piper worked in a variety of styles, for a number of publishing houses and his illustrations were seen beyond the book trade, featuring on posters and adverts.
